• Profesor Luis is extemely nice and understanding. Spanish was my first language but something I struggled to practice as I continued my education. This class did a wonderful job at outlining parts of the language. It definetly aided my reading, writing, and speaking skills. My mother has even noted that I speak the dialect better now. As a whole the professor is empathetic and caring for his students. Glad I took him!

• The most effective aspect of my learning experience was working on the book activities together as a class, it helped me better understand Spanish grammar.

• Absolutely loved this course, professor was amazing, would take more classes with him!

• I thought this course was extremely helpful in the way it encourages students to actively use Spanish in their day-to-day life. This course sure tuned my ear into understanding native speakers better and ability to communicate at an academic level. Although this course is online, somehow I was able to befriend several students and make great connections. This course is indeed a handful that requires lots of time and commitment, but in the end, it has all deemed worth it. Loved the professor!

• Luis is a great instructor with a huge passion for learning. This class was very fast-paced, but Luis did his best to encourage us with positivity. I was very concerned about the course load at first, but it ended up being achievable.

• Luis you were the best. Even with the course being online, every class contained so much life and interaction that as a student w [...], I appreciated so much. The constant talking and popcorn picking helped a lot as well as the breakout rooms to work w others. Thank you!

• The course was understandable fast paced (an entire semester in a couple of weeks), but Luis made it fun and fruitful. I looked forward to attending class, and he always made sure to boost our morals when we were exhausted after a long day of work, telling us how proud of he is. I couldn't have asked for a better professor!

• The instructor was very helpful with all assignments throughout the course and was always excited to teach us.

• The heavy workload of this class would've been unbearable if the instructors weren't so good. The textbook itself is too many activities and not enough pages to refer to that have the actual grammar rules and tools to use. Luis was amazing, his instructions were clear and he kept the class in high spirits.

• Luis and Rapha were both super helpful and knowledgeable instructors.

• Luis and Rafa were both great! My work was always graded quickly, fairly and thorough explanations were always available through them both.

• Thankful to have had another amazing Spanish teacher here at UT. A lot of people complain about the teachers they've had, but all of my Spanish teachers have been amazing.

• Best professor ever, learned so much

• Luis was a very great professor who improved my Spanish skills by a lot. His classes were engaging and insightful, and he maintained high energy which encouraged us to stay engaged. His writing assignments were very enjoyable for me because they enlightened me on cultural affairs.

• This class was hands down my favorite class I've taken at UT. Luis is passionate, knowledgable, and kind. It has been an absolute pleasure to have been his student this spring and I hope he finds work at an institution that allows for his growth andvalues his input unlike what I have seen from the UT Spanish department.

• Great Teacher, highly recommend, was always enthusiastic and enjoyed coming to class.

• I feel that when we were in the classroom I was learning to speak a lot better and felt comfortable trying to say sentences even though they weren't always right. The biggest challenge was coming home as well as the workload. When coming home it was a big environmental change and affected me greatly. The assignments were also many pages for 2 nights which I understand but it still put a strain on me. However, throughout the entire thing, I appreciated that Luis was still there helping us along. He never gave up on us and was dedicated to teaching us the best that he could. He made the course seem less intimidating and made it more fun especially for someone like me who was insecure about not speaking the language at first.

• This class was really amazing. I truly felt like it was a heritage course because it was more advanced than the regular Spanish sequence and it involved a huge amount of subject matter which covered culture and latinidad. I would recommend this course to any student who has grown up in a Spanish speaking household! My Spanish grammar and writing skills have seen a lot of improvement.

• This course was particularly challenging because my Spanish was very broken and I was not familiar with a lot of the grammar rules we learned. However, I noticed my Spanish getting better throughout the semester and noticed that I was able to understand more and more. I am very glad I took this course because it has not only improved my Spanish but taught me about Spanish culture. Luis was an excellent and very understanding instructor. I would definitely recommend others to take this course with him.

• Passion for the subject and overall a solid teacher.​

• The instructor was great. Very flexible and adapting to our need which was a great change from other college professors. Genuinely enjoyed this course and looking forward to future Spanish classes.
